Jessica Myers
Jessica Myers is a photographer, multimedia artist, musician, and wanderer. She seeks to study art as a new realm of perceptual understanding, inspired to create art as a multisensory experience while examining factual aesthetic realities. Born in Illinois and educated at Dominican University, she chased dreams from here to the Appalachian Mountains and back again. She can most often be found hiking through a forested wilderness, on the road speeding through state lines with keyboard and camera in tow, or creeping around abandoned Americana at night.
Current projects include Achapo; a collection of canvas-printed long exposure photographs documenting Americana at night.
Forthcoming works include Descansos: American Folk Art Manifestations of Mourning & Warning a multimedia study of socio-cultural and political implications of roadside memorials in the United States, and Transience a video and documentary photography-based journey from chaos to minimalism.
