About Black Sex Matters:
Black Sex Matters explores how pleasure shapes visions of liberation and how artists and activists navigate sensuality in social justice spaces. The Black Sex Matters event series is a multidisciplinary celebration of erotic joy through the arts, and fundraises for arts activism, with all tickets, bar sales, and merchandise benefiting Black, brown, queer, femme, and non-comforming creation, community work, and resistance.

Black Sex Matters is conceived by poet, playwright, and LetUsBreathe co-founder Kristiana Rae Colón and designed by #LetUsBreathe co-founder Jennifer Pagán. The #LetUsBreathe Collective is an alliance of artists and activists imagining a world without prisons and police through a creative lens. #LetUsBreathe organizes in collaboration with BYP100, Black Lives Matter Chicago, the Black Trans & Gender Nonconforming Collective, Brave Space Alliance, FreeWrite Arts & Literacy, Chicago Community Bond Fund, and SURJ. Black Sex Matters benefits the rehab and programming of the #BreathingRoom space, an arts, healing, and organizing hub developed by #LetUsBreathe. Black Sex Matters continues the mission of #LetUsBreathe by sustaining activist art that disrupts normative narratives about sex and pleasure, amplifies marginalized voices, and serves reproductive justice and sexual wellness in communities most impacted by systemic oppression.

Through honest and visceral photography by renowned photographer Sandro, PrEP4Love shows how Chicagoans can love, explore, and touch freely because of #PrEP.
