OUR STORY | OUR MISSION | LOCATION/DIRECTIONS

The Chicago Art Department is located in Chicago Arts District in the developing Pilsen neighborhood.

OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

The Chicago Art Department is located in an exciting emerging arts neighborhood, the Chicago Arts District. Centered around the Pilsen intersection of 18th and Halsted Streets, this neighborhood is a true arts community. Not only are there several art galleries, but many artists also live and work right in the neighborhood.

As the LOOP continues to expand, this neighborhood finds itself closer and closer to the downtown area. Just to the north we have the academic art communities of UIC, Columbia College and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Just to the west is the gallery district in the West Loop.
