Often the innate magic and spirituality of original music and sound-creation, along with the experience of consuming it, are drained out of the art by excessive processing, formulaic production, and over-saturation. The Exponential dabbles in rejoining that power with their sound through the combination of human voice, modern digital and analogue electronics, and worldly and forgotten instrumentation. Join them as they celebrate the completion of “Encuentro,” the debut album from the Chicago-based improvisational sound trio. Joining in the performance this evening will be Wummin, The Neon Sea, Juice, and J’sun Howard. The night will start with a series of pairings of dancers and musicians, and will finish with a multidirectional, multidisciplinary improvisation session containing all performers.
