Born in NYC in 1984, I grew up making art. Under the tutelage of the sculptor Gregg Wyatt I spent many weekends of my youth contour drawing in the Crypt of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and also playing in the forests of Westchester. I studied Visual Arts and Philosophy of Science at the University of Chicago where I encountered some hugely influential people and stories. I simultaneously fell in love with painting and sociopolitical art and am to this day working in both of those veins. I have my own solo practice, in which I constantly explore new mediums and subject matter, and I also am part of the group Material Exchange, who do work about peoples' complicated relationships to objects.
